Enviroseal provided by Magna Tech is effective for wires, wire harnesses, terminated connectors, thermistors, over-molded coil windings, and insert and injection mold components that are exposed to harsh environmental conditions. During casting, at least some of the hardening atoms remain in solution. If the part is elevated in temperature, the rate of nucleation and growth of these precipitates can be accelerated. This treatment is called artificial aging (T5) and improves strength through precipitate hardening. Some T5 treatments are performed for the purposes of stabilization rather than improving strength.
