Welcome to Magna-Tech Manufacturing
Magna-Tech Manufacturing in Muncie, IN, was established in 1987 as a provider of vacuum impregnation of castings. In 1991, Magna-Tech was acquired by a partnership with the goal to expand and grow the business into the industry leader of impregnation services. Since that time, the Muncie plant (now Corporate headquarters) has grown from operating one impregnation machine in an outdated facility into a company with multiple locations, which include Sheboygan, WI; Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico; Glassport, PA; Greenville, SC; Sylacauga, AL; and Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada . We operate multiple processing lines while utilizing an array of vacuum impregnation processes and a variety of impregnation sealants. In addition to our impregnation services, Magna-Tech has diversified into other services including: Thermal Deburring, Conversion Coating, Tool and Die Coating, Derusting.
Magna-Tech achieved ISO/TS16949:2002 certification in 2005
We operate on a 48-hour standard production turnaround, and in some cases can turn orders in 24 hours. Magna-Tech currently services Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive manufacturers, both domestic and international.

Vacuum impregnation sealing at Magna-Tech Manufacturing is most effective on porous substrates such as metal castings and powdered metal components required to meet pressure retention specifications, or to improve machinability or finish quality of the part. Candidates for impregnation include parts manufactured to contain gases or liquids and parts that will be plated or coated with a surface finish. Parts can be impregnated in the as-cast or in the machined state.
Vacuum impregnation sealing provided by the electronic components division of Magna Tech is effective for wire harnesses, terminated connectors, thermistors, over-molded coil windings, and insert and injection mold components that are exposed to harsh environmental conditions. The sealing process ensures part integrity. There is no change in the appearance or dimensional attributes of the components.
Magna-Tech Manufacturing offers processes to remove rust and corrosion from ferrous materials. Production parts that cannot be used, or may be considered scrap due to corrosion, are candidates for Magna-Tech’s de-rusting services.
Magna-Tech Manufacturing provides Thermal Deburring services for applications that typically have inaccessible burrs such as internal and external flashing burrs, rough edge finishes and applications that have threaded holes.
Magna-Tech Manufacturing offers Iridite Conversion Coating, also known as Chromate Conversion Coatings. Conversion Coating is conductive and is designed to improve corrosion resistance for unpainted aluminum surfaces as well as increase adhesion of paint finish for aluminum and aluminum alloys.
During casting, at least some of the hardening atoms remain in solution. If the part is elevated in temperature, the rate of nucleation and growth of these precipitates can be accelerated. This treatment is called artificial aging (T5) and improves strength through precipitate hardening. Some T5 treatments are performed for the purposes of stabilization rather than improving strength.
Shipping containers often become contaminated from repeated use or from machining oils and other debris. Magna-Tech provides dunnage washing services to clean these contaminants from shipping materials. We utilize a fully automated system to provide fast and cost-effective service.
